What kind of therapy do I offer?

The core model I practice is Transactional Analysis, and as the name suggests it is about how we ‘transact’ with ourselves and others. I integrate other models of therapy into our work as appropriate.

By ‘transacting’ we think, feel, communicate and behave in many ways which are influenced by our early childhood experiences, relationships and significant others in our lives.

We learn very early how to survive in our world and quickly establish strategies which keep us ‘ok’. As we grow up, we continue to use these strategies, however, sometimes in life these strategies become less helpful and get in the way, particularly if as an adult in our adult world we are using childhood methods from our childhood world. This leads to conflict, unhappiness and misunderstandings.

Our therapy together will explore you and your early life decisions. I will support you as you learn about yourself and your relationships.

In doing this you can choose whether you wish to continue doing what you have always done, knowing what the outcome will be, or whether you want to try something different to have a new experience.

I work holistically and whilst we are exploring your life story and your present world we will also explore how you take care of yourself in all other aspects of your life.

I believe that the most important aspect of working with clients is our therapeutic relationship and I can assure you of my investment and commitment with you on your therapeutic journey.
